The "Third Tuesday" gatherings are organised independently of ILAS but are attended overwhelmingly by ILAS members. interested particularly in homebuilding aircraft or restoring old aircraft.  For this reason, ILAS lists and promotes the events to its members.

The events are run as an 'open house'  on the third Tuesday of each month.  They are very informal and, where there is a formal programme, it tends to focus on some aspect of  building/restoring/maintaining an aircraft rather than flying.

The initiator and organiser of the Third Tuesday events is Terry Coughlan and he can be contacted by email on terry@watermarkeng.ie

The ILAS Annual General Meeting is scheduled for Sunday January 30, 2022, at 12:00. In the current circumstances it seems that it will again have to be an online meeting using Zoom. The link will be available closer to the time. If any members would like help to get set up to use Zoom or would like to do a test meeting beforehand to ensure that they can connect in to the AGM, please e-mail secretary@ilas.ie.

The draft minutes of the 2021 AGM may be downloaded from the Downloads section of the ILAS website (login is required). Anyone who has difficulty accessing this should e-mail secretary@ilas.ie.

The outgoing Committee wish to strongly encourage members to consider putting themselves forward for a role on the Committee, as a diversity of expertise is required to manage the Society’s day-to-day responsibilities. Committee meetings have been successfully conducted online over the last two years, so ‘long-distance’ membership of the Committee is now better facilitated than heretofore.

As per the ILAS Constitution, candidates for officer positions or Committee membership should be notified to secretary@ilas.ie at least 14 days before the AGM, but may also be proposed at the AGM itself.

Invoices for the annual membership subscription will be issuing early in the New Year. Payment will be possible online via Stripe, or by cheque/money order via surface mail to the Permit Secretary c/o 15 Herbert Park, Bray, Co Wicklow, A98 P3X2 . Note that the membership subscription is €50, but there's a reduction to €40 for existing members who pay within 30 days of the issuing of the invoice. Participation in the January 2022 AGM is contingent on being a member in good standing for the 2021 membership year.

Kind regards and best wishes for 2022,

    Noel Murphy, Hon Secretary,

on behalf of the ILAS Chairman and Committee
