ILAS is run by enthusiasts for enthusiasts. Our third Tuesday meetings vary from organised training sessions to informal chats and lectures from distinguished pilots and builders. You must join ILAS and have your project approved before you can embark on your journey of restoration or build.
New members are very welcome and will benefit greatly from the accumulated knowledge of existing members with thousands of building and flying hours. We can usually help to explain much of the jargon that surrounds our aeronautical world and, in general, if a problem arises in building or flying someone in ILAS will have the answer. Member's aircraft vary from early 20th century classics to the latest available and construction techniques vary from wood and canvass to fibreglass or aluminium.
Members get immediate access to our Newsletters and are able to download all necessary paperwork from our website. Members are also encouraged to submit photos of their aircraft, build-in-progress or journeys.
